West Bengal polls: Didi lost election the day she played ‘khela’ in Nandigram, PM Modi tells Mamata | India News

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Modi on Tuesday said that the TMC lost the election the day Mamata Banerjee played ‘khela’ (game) at the polling booth in Nandigram.
Mamata Banerjee, who is contesting polls from Nandigram, had camped outside a polling booth on April 1 claiming election malpractice by security officials.
Addressing the poll rally in Cooch Behar, PM Modi said Banerjee’s anger indicates that she has lost the polls.
Claiming a BJP wave was blowing across West Bengal, Modi said that his party was sure to win the Bengal polls not because it was God but because its leaders were engaged in public service.
Didi‘s exit is imminent. That is clear after the first two phases of polling,” he added.
In his address, PM Modi reiterated, “No social scheme will be stopped if BJP comes to power, Didi making false claims.”
Asserting that Banerjee has problems with people sporting a Tilak and wearing saffron, Modi said the TMC supremo’s appeal to the Muslims reflects that her “minority votes are slipping out of her hands.”
The BJP and TMC are locked in a fierce poll battle for the 294 seats in the Bengal assembly. The voting in the state is being conducted in eight phases. The first two phases were held on March 27 and April 1.
