NEW DELHI: BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday said that the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar was not briefed properly on state home minister Anil Deshmukh’s whereabouts when he was tested Covid-19 positive and was supposed to stay under home isolation.

“Deshmukh was in home quarantine from February 15-27 but met officers and was not in isolation. I feel Pawar Sahab was not briefed properly yesterday,” said Fadnavis.
On Monday, Pawar had said that Deshmukh was recuperating from Covid-19 during the period of time Parambir Singh, the former police commissioner, has claimed that the state minister was indulging in extortion activities through senior Mumbai Police officers.
In a scathing attack on the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), Fadnavis said that the Maharashtra government has revealed itself in trying to save Anil Deshmukh.
The former chief minister of Maharashtra, Fadnavis said that he will approach the Union home secretary and share confidential data on the ‘transfer racket’ being run in the Maharashtra Police.
Fadnavis said that he has over 6.3 GB of call recordings and documents on the alleged ‘transfer posting racket’ of IPS and non-IPS officers of Maharashtra Police.
“All those mentioned in the intercepts got posted where they wanted. It includes senior IPS officers as well. The matter should be investigated by the CBI, said Fadnavis.
