The decision was taken during a cabinet meet in the capital.
While announcing his decision, Kejriwal said that the new move will bring revolutionary changes in Delhi’s current education system, and will make it reach new heights as well.

“There are around 1000 govt schools & 1700 private schools in Delhi. All government schools and most private schools here are affiliated with CBSE. Their CBSE affiliation will be scrapped & they’ll be affiliated to Delhi Board of School Education,” Kejriwal was quoted as saying.
Delhi CM further added that “Schools will be selected after discussion with principals, teachers & parents. We hope that all schools will voluntarily get affiliated to this Board within 4-5 years.”
The new educational board will have a governing body, chaired by the education minister. It’ll also have an executive body for day- to-day functioning, which will be headed by a CEO.
Both these sub-bodies will comprise of experts from industry and education sector, principals of government & private schools, as well as bureaucrats.
